Immediately After Treatment
- Apply a cold compress (not ice directly) to reduce swelling if needed.
- Avoid touching, pressing or massaging the treated area for at least 6 hours unless specifically instructed by your practitioner.
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours — do not lie flat immediately after lip or under-eye treatment.
For the First 24 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, which increases blood flow and may worsen bruising.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications unless prescribed.
- Avoid extreme heat — saunas, steam rooms and very hot baths.
- Avoid cosmetic treatments such as laser, IPL or micro-needling in the treated area.
What is Normal?
Some swelling, redness and bruising at injection sites is entirely normal and will typically resolve within 5–7 days. Asymmetry immediately after treatment is common — the tissues are still settling. Review appointments are standard practice and allow us to assess and refine results once swelling has resolved.
